The New York Palace, originally built in 1882 by railroad baron Henry Villard, is located across Madison Avenue from St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, N.Y. At the New York Palace, the original Italian Renaissance-style Villard Mansion with an iron-gated courtyard lit by Florentine lanterns leads to a lobby with sweeping staircases, golden chandeliers, bronze doré moldings and Tiffany stained glass.
